Job Overview
Join Pidherneys Inc as a Water & Sewer Pipelayer and play a big role in building infrastructure around Alberta! In this hands-on and demanding role, you’ll install water lines, sewer lines and Storm drains using the latest equipment. We’re looking for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a challenging environment and has a sharp eye for QC and safety.
Job Responsibilities
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain underground utilities according to blueprints, specifications, and safety codes.
- Pressure test water lines and force mains.
- Check grades and make sure pipes, manholes, and fitting are installed to the contact specifications and Blueprints using levels or lasers.
- Dig trenches to required depths by hand or using trenching tools. Working hand in hand with the Lead Excavator operators.
- Carry out the site foreman’s directives safely throughout the day. Lead hand requirements.
- Install various sizes and materials of the pipe. PVC/HDPE/Concrete
- Work safely in deep trenches. Having knowledge in working in trench boxes, Manhole cages, and slide rail systems.
- Ability to safely work around excavation equipment including excavators, loaders, packers, and Dozers.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta OH&S guidelines and Pidherney’s Inc safety policies and procedures.
- Able to self motivate and lead others.
- Digging around and crossing of shallow utilities in a safe and productive manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years working as a Pipelayer helper or 2 years as a lead pipelayer.
- Knowledge of pipe lasers and transit use
- Ability to read blueprint and city specifications is an asset.
- Strong communicative skills and able to lead a small group or workers with the direction given by the Site Supervisor.
- Ability to read and understand Locates is required
- Ability to dig trenches manually or with machinery as required.
- Strong commitment to safety practices in all aspects of work.

Pidherney's Inc. is pleased to be adding an Underground Foreman to our growing team. We are currently looking for foreman with experience in Water & Sewer but experience with Road Construction and Earthworks would be an asset.
Position Responsibilities
- Work alongside management to efficiently complete
- Effectively communicate with Superintendents, Project Managers, Engineers, and Consultants
- Utilize applicants’ experience to ensure quality work is
maintained.
- Help deliver and improve the company health and safety policies/procedures while following OH&S Regulations
- Knowledge in pressure testing and chlorination of water
- Competence in the utilization of engineered shoring devices for safe trenching practice
- Be able to mentor/train crew members

EQUIPMENT LOGISTICS COORDINATOR
Must be from local area (Rocky Mountain House) or ability to relocate.
- Build positive, collaborative relationships with all points of contact and utilize available resources to successfully meet customer needs and expectations.
- Act as a primary point of contact with Employee’s for daily work and ensure equipment order fulfillments. Monitor progress and execution of the work planed and adjust forecasting accordingly.
- Journey Management Planning.
- Collaborate with Operations on issues encountered by the Employee, including routing, schedule, conflicts, and fleet contingency plans when required.
- Collaborate with Oilfield Manager to update and provide feedback on day-to-day operations, employee shift activities, and achievements. Immediately notify the Oilfield Manager of any safety, performance, and attendance issues or successes.
